Congratulations to Anne Elizabeth Buys and Michaela Moore
for winning preliminary swimsuit and talent.
Miss Riverland Michaela Moore won the talent preliminary competition and a $500 scholarship.
The 21-year-old from Biloxi sang, "They Just Keep Moving the Line" from the musical-drama television series "Smash."
Moore, who is competing for the fourth year, also won the talent preliminary competition last year singing the same song.
Miss Turtle Creek Anne Elizabeth Buys won the swimsuit preliminary competition and a $400 scholarship. After being named the winner, Buys said she was so excited.
"I was totally not expecting to hear my name, but two years ago I really dedicated myself to living a healthy lifestyle, and I can say every single day I've made healthy food choices, and I've worked out. This is something I've been working on for so long, and the fact that I accomplished this goal is over-whelming. I am so blessed and thankful the Lord allowed me to do this," Buys said.
This is the first year Buys has competed in the Miss Mississippi Pageant, but she was crowned Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen in 2013.
