Louisiane To Dock In Vicksburg November 6th!

The brand new Louisiane owned by French America Cruise Lines is about to debut on the Mississippi River and will be stopping in Vicksburg for the first time on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

The Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau and Vicksburg Main Street will be down at the riverfront at 8 a.m. Sunday morning to welcome her to our city as passengers depart for their tours at 8:30 a.m.

Fresh from a multi-million dollar refurbishment, the Louisiane was meticulously designed for boutique cruises and boasts beautiful rooms with open deck views.  The Louisiane, which carries 150 passengers on each cruise, is set to make three more stops in 2016 and 14 stops in 2017.

"We are so excited to welcome another riverboat to our city," said Bill Seratt, executive director of the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau.  "Having the paddlewheelers back on the Mississippi River and docking in Vicksburg is a wonderful addition to our city's attractions."

Along with the Louisiane, the American Eagle and the Queen of the Mississippi of American Cruise Lines and the American Queen of Shore Excursions of America will continue docking at the Vicksburg City Riverfront.

The riverboats bring in hundreds of passengers during each stop and enjoy tours at the city's attractions, shopping and dining in the downtown area and guided tours of the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Vicksburg Main Street welcomes each boat with greeters and special downtown coupons to encourage passengers to check out shops and restaurants.
